About the scholarship
The Georgia’s Own Foundation Jump Start Scholarship is back for 2025! Each year, we award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to 20 high school seniors who are enrolled or anticipating enrollment in college the year after graduation.
To enter, complete the application below and upload a copy of your transcript. You’ll also need a letter of recommendation and a short essay (300 words or less) telling us about your career goals—what you’re doing now (academics, work, community service, etc.), what you plan to achieve in the future, and a person or event that’s had an influence on your career decision.

- The applicant must be a primary member or child of a primary member of Georgia’s Own Credit Union for a minimum of three (3) months, and the account must be in good standing.
- The applicant must be a legal United States citizen living in Georgia as a resident, or child of a resident, in one of the following counties: Baker, Ben Hill, Brooks, Calhoun, Clay, Colquitt, Crisp, Decatur, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Lee, Lowndes, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Sumter, Stewart, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, Webster, or Worth.
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior from an accredited high school or home-study program and must be enrolled or anticipate enrollment in an undergraduate course of study for 2025/2026 in an accredited institution.
- The applicant must complete the application in full and provide accompanying documentation by the submission deadline.
- Home school applicants are accepted as long as proper accreditation paperwork is provided.
- Applicants who meet all of the above requirements will be eligible for entry.
Officers, Directors, Supervisory Committee Members, Employees, Vendors, Agents, Successors, and Assignments of Georgia’s Own Credit Union and the Georgia’s Own Foundation and immediate family members (defined as spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children, and grandchildren) are not eligible to win above-mentioned scholarships. Entries will be judged by a third-party panel of experts.
