We are proud to congratulate Jaslene Cade as the winner of the 2026 Presidential Scholarship, a $5,000 award presented annually to a first-year college student pursuing a degree in business. Funded by President & CEO David A. Preter, the scholarship is designed to help inspire and develop the next generation of credit union leaders.
A resident of Albany, Georgia, Jaslene is a third-generation Georgia’s Own Credit Union member of more than a decade, a graduate of Dougherty Comprehensive High School, and former Miss DCHS. This fall, she will attend Florida A&M University, where she plans to major in Business Administration and Public Policy. In her application, Jaslene shared that she was inspired by Georgia’s Own commitment to serving underserved communities, especially “communities that are often overlooked.”
We also extend our congratulations to our outstanding runners-up, Michael and Brooke, whose impressive applications showcased their leadership, ambition, and commitment to making a difference. We are honored to support these remarkable students and wish them continued success as they begin their college journeys.
